She says, “Awards are just trophies and if all of them have gone to an actress who has done around 12-13 South Indian films already, what can you say? People have appreciated my performance in Fashion and their SMSes are my rewards.”
When Asin was quizzed about Mugdha’s displeasure, she said a diplomatic, “No Comments!”

Asin released a statement says, The concerned person N. Muthu Kumar has left my employment and we informed the police immediately. Other accusations are false.”
However the victim’s mother says, “I am worried as Asin’s father Joseph said that Kumar was sacked after he joined the Mumbai underworld several days ago.

While my search in Mumbai was fruitless, the facts do not add up because Kumar told me over phone sometime back that he was likely to quit after the actress abused him over his physical handicap.”
However Chennai Police Commissioner says, “The issue is being blown out of proportion by a section of the press. The complaint has been forwarded to the appropriate authorities and there is nothing more to it.”

(NSI News Source Info) January 26, 2009: Asin Thottumkal, who made her Bollywood debut with the most commercially successful film of Bollywood is flying high after she got the Screen award for the most promising female debut in a Hindi film.

She however, has her feet placed firmly on the ground as she says the script matters most to her and she signs a film only if she likes the narrative.
“I have no particular choice of role in a film, but in the order of preference, I first see the script, followed by the role, director, banner and then the co-star,” Asin told IANS.
The south Indian actress, who will next be seen in Vipul Shah’s “London Dreams” along with Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan, said that since language has never been a criterion for her, she is “open to do a variety of films”.
Thats good… She has pretty face, a really nice body and she has no accent. Seems like we’ve imported a good actress from South!

I don’t know how they found out about me. I have just finished a long schedule of shooting the film abroad and some of it is still left.
“But I feel I have received a very warm welcome to Bollywood. Both my initial projects are with good banners, actors and filmmakers. I feel lucky and blessed,” she told IANS.

Seems the time is just too right for her coz even before her debut flick ‘Ghajini’ could hit the screens, Asin has bagged in meaty projects with some of the topmost heroes of Bollywood. The actress is close on the heels of completing her ‘London Dreams’ with Salman Khan and Ajay Devagan. Meanwhile, talks are going on to sign for the biggest projects with Disney and Warner Bros.
Well-known in South, GV Films are all set to produce an untitled film which will be simultaneously made in Tamil and Hindi with Asin as female lead in both the versions. Producers Usha Venkataramani and Mahadevan Ganesh of GV Films have finalized Ranbir Kapoor as the male lead in Hindi version.
Though not much has been disclosed about the film, GV films claim that it would be based on science-fiction like Rajnikanth starrer ‘Endhiran’.
