America First Lady Michelle Obama Had Glam Slam: Super (Style) Tuesday!
(NSI News Source Info) LOS ANGELES, Calif. - January 21, 2009: After months of speculation, the TOP SECRET CLASSIFIED INFO fashionistas were anticipating, was finally revealed… what Michelle Obama would wear on this history-making day.
Talk about major pressure… only millions of people watching worldwide! Even Brian Williams joked on air that some people are saying, “she just may save the fashion industry.”
I like that she picked yellow. It pops. It’s bright. It’s bold and unexpected - we haven’t seen Michelle in a lot of yellow. To me, yellow is a color of optimism. It symbolizes the sun and a beautiful sunrise, and this is what today is… a new day.
But that’s just my opinion. In December, the color experts at Pantone named PANTONE 14-0848 Mimosa, the color of 2009, a color that “embodies hopefulness and reassurance in a climate of change”. Hmmm… Maybe we’re all on to something.
Michelle went with an American designer, of course. Cuban-born Isabel Toledo created the embellished dress and coordinating lace and wool coat, accessorized with green leather gloves and pumps. It’s not the first time Michelle has worn Isabel Toledo. In June, she donned a black jersey tunic and palazzo pants ensemble for a fundraiser.
Sasha and Malia looked adorable in their brightly colored coats and scarves. Can’t wait to see what their elegant mom wears tonight to the Inaugural Balls. We’ll have all of that for you tomorrow. And tonight on Access Hollywood, more First Lady fashion.
