Mission Istaanbul (Forthcoming)

Mission Istaanbul

Mission Istaanbul (2008)
Cast :
Shabbir Aluwalia, Shreya Sharan, Shweta Bhardwaj, Zayed Khan, Viveik Anand Oberoi, Nikitin Dheer

Synopsis :
Vikas Sagar would go anywhere for a scoop, risk his life and limb to get an exclusive story that nobody else can. It's for this precise reason Vikas is a familiar face watched by six million viewer's weeknights on TV 24. Ambitious, popular and professional, Vikas is considered one of the most promising journalists in the business.
It's also the reason Owais Husain, a senior producer at the controversial Istanbulbased AL JOHARA, widely criticized as the mouthpiece of terrorists or as their network of choice, makes him an offer to head the channel's proposed Indian bureau for an outrageous salary and other perks. It's an offer he almost can't refuse because of the channel's controversial profile which ensures that it's seen by everyone globally, including the White House. It certainly would take Vikas's career to another level not only does he become the highest paid journalist in India but also puts him on an international platform. But there is one condition that the head hunters from AL JOHARA insist he must join ASAP and then fly to Istanbul for a three month orientation programme.
Their offer couldn't have come at a better time for Vikas, who's undergoing a painful divorce with wife Anjali, an equally feisty journalist whose desire to have a baby leads to their separation because her husband wants her to wait a little longer and seems to be in no mood to start a family. While Al Johara dangles the temptation of kickstarting their India operations, Vikas accepts the offer largely to mend his broken heart.
But little does Vikas know that his life is about to change when he takes the flight to Istanbul on a threemonth orientation program at the channel's headquarters. While Al Johara is one of the most viewed channels in the world, its reputation has been largely built as the mouthpiece of a dreaded terrorist. Abu Nazir, who is on the most wanted lists of both the Interpol and FBI, is vociferous in his threat to wage war against several countries, including India. A threat he usually delivers via a videotape to Al Johara.
On the flight Vikas finds himself seated next to a stunningly beautiful copassenger who hates flying. Lisa Lobo is headed for Istanbul to attend a medical convention or so she claims. In her obvious discomfort, she turns to an amused Vikas for moral support and distraction from the reality of being airborne. It's a budding friendship that's grounded the moment the flight lands and Lisa disappears at the airport.
Once in Istanbul, Vikas's initial impression of AL JOHARA is in sharp contrast to its notorious reputation. Especially when he meets the charismatic Ghazni, who has business interests all over the world but whose obsession these days is AL JOHARA as an instrument to shape world events. There is only one word of caution to Vikas and that's never ever to venture onto the 13th floor known as the Catacomb.
As part of his orientation, Vikas gets handson experience in the AL JOHARA newsroom where he watches ghastly and exclusive news reports of terrorism. He learns more about Abu Nazir, who is described as "a oneman organization whose existence revolves around a single person." Vikas is told that it is extremely difficult to find out any details about his private life and his habits because such information would help the secret services who are looking for him. "Abu Nazir is cautious to the point of paranoia."
Reeling under the impact of the reality bytes at work, Vikas's only relief is his flirtatious encounters with Lisa and the lively company of soldierturnedjournalist Owais Husain who is looking forward to quitting his job and settling down with his Irish girlfriend.
But on an assignment to cover kidnapped journalists in one of Abu Nazir's terrorist camps in Afghanistan, Vikas is shocked when Abu Nazir's brother, Khalil, brutally executes Owais Hussain just before a UN peacekeeping force mounts a rescue operation.
Reeling at this close encounter with terrorism and watching a brutal killing, Vikas returns to Istanbul in a daze and is approached by a former Turkish commando, Rizwan Khan, who hints that no senior employee has ever quit AL JOHARA and rattles off a list of AL JOHARA employees who had been killed in terrorist attacks within days of there being of rumours of their plans to quit or their resumes circulating in the job market! Vikas is quickly reminded of Owais Husain expressing the same to him. The stranger poses a few more questions about AL JOHARA like why Abu Nazir speaks only to AL JOHARA and leaves quietly.
Vikas discreetly runs a check on the names rattled off by Rizwan and discovers he was indeed telling the truth. Five AL JOHARA staffers before Owais Husain had either died in a car bomb explosion, abducted and killed or simply found dead. It sends a chill through Vikas's spine. He slowly notices that not everything is as simple as they look in the offices of AL JOHARA, especially when he seems to bump into strangers whose faces he soon recognizes as suicide bombers in a couple of terrorist attacks. The deeper Vikas digs into AL JOHARA's history and operations, the more questions crop up in his mind. And then he makes the cardinal mistake of straying onto the 13th floor.
Soon Vikas realizes that all is not what it seems and that he can't trust anyone not even Lisa! As he is tortured for straying onto the 13th floor, double crossed by Lisa and watches wife Anjali narrowly surviving a suicide bomb attack in Srinagar, Vikas has no choice but to ally with Rizwan after he makes a shocking revelation that Abu Nazir is dead but being kept alive by AL JOHARA through videotapes by using digital images of the terrorist and doctoring old footage.
Thereafter Vikas Sagar finds himself creating news rather than reporting it as he steals the secrets locked away on Al Johara's 13th floor, incurs Ghazni's wrath and becomes a man on the run wanted by Turkish cops, terrorists, the CIA and Lisa Lobo!
From wielding a mike before a television camera, he is forced to wield a gun and join Rizwan in a bloody mission against international terrorism.

Salman & Amitabh on blog

Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan blog on Shinjini
July 08, 2008
Shinjini Sengupta has drawn the attention of celebrity bloggers Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Both have their own takes on her story.
According to her father, Shinjini, 16, lost her voice and movement on May 19 after going into depression because judges on a regional reality show were harsh with her before her elimination.
Shinjini was flown in to Bangalore for treatment on Friday, when TV channels picked up her story and started airing it with a lot of sensationalizing.
Despite her father’s claims, there is no evidence to suggest a link between Shinjini’s medical condition and her elimination from the reality contest; doctors believe such a link is not possible.
In his blog entry Salman has taken the judges to task, not only for causing Shinjini’s condition but for not visiting her in the hospital!
“I feel very upset and sad to learn about the young teenaged girl Shinjini, who had to be hospitalized under severe depression as a result of the humiliation and harassment caused to her by some uncaring judges in a reality show! What is more shocking is that the so-called judges did not even visit her nor offered any help and assistance. This unfortunate incidence puts the judges in the dock but who would try & punish them? Is such behavior and treatment not a cognizable offence? It ought to be.”
Salman, it would seem, has bought the media hype hook, line, and sinker.
Amitabh on the other hand has used the Shinjini story to grind his own axe against the media. He has directly commented on Shinjini story but used it to highlight the failings and strengths of the media.
Referring to an Indian Express, Mumbai, story that details how the media hyped the Shinjini with an eye for TRP ratings, Amitabh writes:
“The media criticizes itself and mocks at the electronic on its infant behavior. We do live in a practicing democracy. In freedom of speech and in respect of its integrity. It is not the first time that comment has been made towards the standards of the electronic. Is it competition, envy or sheer ignorance. Could be all three. But one that deserves to be understood with a certain seriousness. If our news is going to be guided by information on where I park my cars to the fact that I have a beastly cold, then there is justification on the above article. Someday I shall share with you the texts the media sends seeking a story. Fascinating !”
The good news is that Shinjini has got her voice back. After a month of speechlessness, on Tuesday, July 1, she is reported to have said, “Ami bhalo aachhi. Doctor ra onek test korchhe. Test korar shomoy onek shobdo hochchhilo. (I’m fine. Doctors are conducting several tests. These tests are very noisy).”

Provoked....on abused women

Provoked
(NSI News Source Info) July 8, 2008: Provoked answers the complicated question of domestic disharmony with a deft and direct approach to the question of a woman’s place in the man’s scheme of things.
The battered wife Kiranjit Ahluwalia (Aishwarya Rai) chooses to kill husband (Naveen). The story is based on a true story where Kiranjit found freedom by setting her brutal husband on fire.
Cleverly but tenderly formatted as a thriller — in — flashback, Provoked opens with the burning figure of Deepak Ahluwalia (Naveen Andrews) running screaming out of his house. Mundhra moves smoothly backwards into events leading to this gruesome incident. Full credit to Aishwarya Rai for plunging deep into a part.
The vulnerable, fragile little-girl-lost quality in her personality works to great advantage in portraying the spouse-burning victim as a woman scorned beyond endurance. Among the unforgettable sequences, count the one where the stern lady constable asks Kiranjit to take off her jewellery and clothes.
Blessedly we are shown only fragments of Kiranjit’s trauma. Director Mundhra makes sure they are enough to make us wince without making our stomachs churn. Female bonding has always been a favourite theme in his films (remember Shabana Azmi and Deepti Naval in Kamla?). In Provoked the bond that develops between Kiranjit and her cell mate Veronica is remarkably well-tuned to the sisters’-solidarity theme that forms the narrative’s backbone.
Nandita Das is also in fine form as a spunky ‘sister’ activist holding up a torch for the torched husband’s tortured wife. Every actor in the smallest role gets it right…and bright. Naveen Andrews’s despicable brutality as the husband makes your skin crawl, as it’s meant to.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na Watch and Download Online

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na Hindi Movie Starring : Imran Khan, Genelia D’Souza, Ratna Pathak, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail KhanWatch Movie

Shahrukh Khan

Here is a picture of Shahrukh Khan as Quick Gun Murugan (character played by him in Om Shanti Om) in his reality game show Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Ho. This special episode will be telecasted on 22nd June 22, 2008.

I have no idea how Southern Superstar Rajinikanth took it because the character was taken from one of his movies where he plays a cowboy. Yeah, a cowboy in Chennai! I happened to catch the movie on TV few weeks back and was not able to stay in my chair…yeah, was falling off laughing. Coming back to Shahrukh Khan, he has done everything to save the show from bringing Kareena-Saif, Harman-Priyanka to Rani-Karan, but it seems that things are not working in his favour this time. Let’s hope this Quick Gun act works for him.

Katrina Kaif from Egypt

Katrina Kaif has just returned from Egypt after shooting a song with her favourite co-star, Akshay Kumar, for the keenly awaited Singh Is Kinng.
And while Katrina is delighted with the way the song has shaped up, she is even more charmed by Egypt and its culture."It’s among the most beautiful countries I have visited - the pyramids, the temples and the landscape are absolutely exotic. I even enjoyed the barbecue dinner on a boat on the Nile. We shot in a number of places and I’ve come back with fond memories of my trip."
Ask her about the song she shot, Jee Karda, she smiles, "Wait and watch. It should be on air later this month. We shot at 4am every day to capture the light and it was scorching. To keep cool we would stay in shades and sip fruit juice or mint tea." But her recent tour to the African land almost got into trouble when local police reportedly arrived at the scene and objected to Katrina’s outfit that exposed her bare legs while she was shooting against the backdrop of the great pyramids along with Akki.
Egypt is predominantly a Muslim nation and revealing outfits are not accepted in public places.According to reports director Anees Bazmee, who was determined to shoot at the pyramids, managed to get the matter resolved with the help of others.

Bipasha Basu .... Is she HOT CHILLI????

Bipasha Basu wished she wasn't so hot

Bipasha Basu may have never imagined her dusky complexion and sultry image could hamper her prospects at fetching a brand endorsement. However, that is precisely what happened. A leading jewellery brand initially signed Bips to endorse their product. Nevertheless, they had a change of heart and roped in Karisma Kapoor instead. Apparently, the dusky bong’s hot image didn’t go with the image of the product.
It was meant for the family woman, and Bipasha’s endorsement could send out the wrong message. Oops!
