The actress began her career as a model but has never graced the cover of the fashion magazine before.
Posing in a metallic mini-dress by Louis Vuitton, Pinto is described as "the new style sensation".
When the Vogue writer asked the photoshoot stylist, Tiina Laakkonen, who Pinto was not dressed exclusively in Indian fashion, Pinto grabbed a pencil and scribbled: "Because she's international now!"
Pinto was signed by a leading model agency aged 21, after leaving university. She said recently that she took the job as a route into acting: "Honestly, I remember harbouring dreams of being an actor since I was five years old. For someone like me with no godfather in the film industry, it was easier to break into modelling. I did use modelling as a means to get into the film world. I enjoyed modelling. It taught me a lot in terms of being confident and definitely helped me prepare for what was to come next.
The 24-year-old has just landed her first post-Slumdog role, cast in Woody Allen's latest film. She will star in the as-yet-untitled project opposite Sir Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts and Josh Brolin. It will hit cinemas in 2010.
She is rumoured to be dating her Slumdog Millionaire co-star, 18-year-old Dev Patel.

According to reports, “through May 1, 2009, for every specially marked pack of Pampers product purchased in the USA and Canada, Pampers will provide UNICEF with funding for one life-saving tetanus vaccine held at United States Fund for UNICEF.”
“What really excited me about this was the concept of mothers from around the world working together to protect children,” Hayek told press.
“The thought of somebody in Los Angeles, where I come from, purchasing the one pack of Pampers ... by doing this that they were going to do anyway, they could ... provide one vaccine for another mother somewhere else in the world, someone they don’t know ... these anonymous women around the world coming together to protect women and to protect children was really exciting.”

Listening to their heart-wrenching stories of civil rights abuse, the “Changeling” actress spoke to press about some of what she was told, adding that something must be done.
“I was saddened to meet a 21-year-old woman who was born in a refugee camp, who has never even been out of the camp and is now raising her own child in a camp,” Angie said after her trip to Ban Mai Nai Soi camp.
“With no foreseeable chance that these refugees will soon be able to return to Burma (Myanmar), we must find some way to help them work and become self reliant,” she added.
The camp currently houses 18,111 registered refugees, all of whom aren’t allowed to leave for proper schooling or work.

It was the Mumbai police patrol team who had to after slum-dwellers in the neighbourhood complained of loud music early Sunday morning. The police ordered them to turn down the volume of the loudspeakers and said that the actress will be penalised as per the provisions for flouting noise pollution rules.
A local resident, Irfan Shaikh, said that very loud music was played in the party which started late Saturday and continued till the early hours Sunday.
“Whenever there is music or programmes in the slum areas, these people in big buildings complain against us and we have to shell out large fines. We also get disturbed and so we complained to the police,” he told media persons here Sunday morning.
Well, this was an irresponsible act from Zinta who has always shown her social responsibility and did so yet again on her birthday when she adopted orphaned girls from Mother Miracle School in Hrishikesh. As their guardian, Preity will take care of finances for their basic needs like food, clothing and education.
