Miriam Quiambao did Playboy 'for a love of art'
(NSI News Source Info) August 16, 2008: Celebrity TV host Miriam Quiambao's appearance on the cover of Playboy Philippines came as a shock to some, but not too many. In press interviews that came after her controversial shoot, the former Miss Universe runner-up said she did it all for art, and that it was something that she had to do to celebrate her being single again, after a failed marriage to an Italian businessman. Rumours are rife that Quiambao did it because she was in dire need of money. Several blind items have appeared in Manila tabloids pointing to a beauty queen-turned-TV-personality who is selling off her furniture just to be able to keep up with payments for her condominium. Quiambao's fans are quick to defend her by saying she's got a decent and well-paying job as a broadcaster, so she couldn't be hard up for money. The statuesque beauty was allegedly paid a six-figure sum for agreeing to go on the cover, and do some revealing photos on the inside pages. Quiambao insists she got clearance from her news programme bosses to appear on the magazine known for both its sexy women and well-written stories.
