Slumdog Millionaire shines in Toronto

Slum Dog Millionaire is the latest from Danny Boyle, the maker of Trainspotting and Beach.The movie is based on Vikas Swaroop's book Q and A and set completely in Mumbai.It is about an imaginative slum dweller played by newcomer Dev Patel, who enters the game show, the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and wins.For the first time in an international movie appearance, Anil Kapoor plays the egoistical quiz show host in the movie that also stars Irrfan Khan. The People's Choice Award is often an indicator of future Academy Award nominations. An Oscar buzz already started by the film, which opens on November 28.
