(NSI News Source Info) October 26, 2008: Model-turned-actress-turned-fashion designer Caroline D'Amore presented her Spring 2009 D'Amore by Marceau collection on Tuesday Oct. 14, at the Mercedes-Benz Los Angeles Fashion Week in absentia. She's off shooting a new movie, so her partner Laurent Planeix held down the tent and took the bows after their swimwear line wowed the crowd.

Suvari, who snuggled in the front row with fiancé Simone Sestito, "loved the black and silver bikini, and the new patterns" that D'Amore sent down the catwalk. Those patterns included a black-and-white zebra-inspired print, shown on a tiny string-tied bikini, a plunging-necklined one piece, and a belly-and-back-cut-out one piece, and, on similar suit styles, a multicolored design featuring a pink butterfly motif against a white background. Also eminently wearable are D'Amore's bandeau one-piece swimsuits done in various color-blocked patterns, some with skinny, single-shoulder straps, others with thin halter straps. Those would be perfect for the Kardashian sisters Kim and Kourtney, who also graced the front row of the full house. Less successful were the lamé suits, done in gold, silver, or copper. Some were done as bikinis, others as one-pieces with cutout sides and twist ties down the center or plunging necklines with belts. Overall, while D'Amore by Marceau is not exactly re-inventing the swimsuit, the collection does offer women of varying sizes a number of eminently wearable styles in pretty colors and interesting shapes.
