(NSI News Source Info) August 29, 2008: Balaji Telefilms and Ekta Kapoor will do anything for their Kasamh Se heroine Bani aka Prachi Desai! And if that means getting her boyfriend from someplace so be it. Says a source from Balaji Telefilms, "Prachi is Ekta's close friend. So when Ekta heard that Prachi had a crush on this guy from Pune, called Varun, she went to great lengths to get him to Mumbai. Long-distance romances never flourish much and Prachi was finding it difficult to concentrate on work, so her executives met the boy, offered him a role in Ekta's serial Kis Des Mein Hai Meraa Dil and found him accommodation in Mumbai.Everything was arranged for Varun and handed to him on a platter as people in Balaji are very fond of Prachi and don't want her to feel upset about anything. This is the first time Prachi has expressed her crush on someone and they want her to be genuinely happy. Balaji doesn't mind romances or affairs as long as people are happy and focused on their work."
Prachi predictably denies the romance. "I am not dating anybody right now. Yes, I attended junior college at Pune for a year but I don't know anyone by the name of Varun. I should tell Balaji to get me people I really have crushes on. When I was in college, I used to have big crushes on Hrithik Roshan and Shahid Kapoor. I find Farhan (Akhtar) very cute. From the time, I was in my 8th grade I have been a huge fan of his and Dil Chahta Hai which I watched many times. Working with Farhan was a dream come true."Gushing more about Farhan; Desai, who plays his wife in Rock On!! adds, "He's so witty and has such a great sense of humor apart from being an amazing actor. Farhan has this unusual knack of making people feel comfortable right from the first day. Initially I was very nervous but he made me just go with the flow."Talking about her role in Rock On!! Prachi says, "It's different from the Bani of Kasamh Se. I am the reason the band gets back together. I play Sakshi who adores Farhan and wants to see him happy. She keeps making compromises till one day there's a turning point."Prachi says the transition from a TV to film wasn't easy. Currently she's doing Rumy Jafry's Life Partner. "I miss TV. It's like starting all over again in films and takes me back to where I was. I was the boss on television and it was my comfort zone. In the film industry, I have to re-introduce myself but I am still enjoying myself and having a great time. I am lucky to have got such good breaks!"
