Leona Lewis Album Release Debacle

Leona Lewis Album Release Debacle
(NSI News Source Info) September 2, 2008: Taking advantage of the Labor Day weekend sales in the States, Leona Lewis and a female friend were spotted out shopping in the midtown section of New York City on Monday (September 1).
While out, Leona and her shopping companion went to Starbucks for a coffee drink before combing the racks at the American Apparel store.

And Miss Lewis was all smiles during her afternoon shopping spree, despite reportedly being furious over the release of an album in which she recorded back in 2006.
According to press reports, the still-untitled album features 10 unheard tracks recorded before Lewis won the UK talent show “X-Factor”.
A source told The People newspaper: “Leona made it (the album) before she was famous and didn’t expect it to come back to haunt her like this. The album was finished in 2006 and due for release that year. Then Leona won X Factor and all communications between her and UEG stopped.”
The insider adds: “There were attempts to release the album throughout 2007. But they were blocked immediately after signing the record contract with her current label. But now they have won the right to release it.”
Unfortunately for Leona, the album of “new” material is scheduled to hit store shelves in October, right as she plans on re-releasing her debut album Spirit - putting the two discs in direct competition with one another.
