The former “Friends” starlet was spotted paying a visit to Dos Caminos Restaurant in Manhattan for the “Saturday Nigh Live” afterparty, where fellow guests included Justin Timberlake and Natalie Portman.

The three, along with Andy Samberg, Paul Rudd, Masi Oka and Bill Paxton, all quickly made their way inside the downtown eatery - proceeding to mingle amongst one another while enjoying a few drinks.
Meanwhile, during the night’s show, Timberlake made a surprise appearance on “Weekend Update” - explaining how he would have loved to have been host of the show, but wasn’t offered he chance - then jumping on the anchor desk while belting out a tune.
In another hilarious sketch of superstar singer Beyonce filming a video, the “Sexy Back” stud returned as one of three men providing what has been appropriately termed as “bizarre, inappropriate backup.”

Kerala: Boy becomes man Suriya in Vaaranam Aayiram

Kerala: Boy becomes man Suriya in Vaaranam Aayiram
(NSI News Source Info) November 17, 2008: No starry fuss, no showy frills. Call Suriya for an interview and the actor’s reply is prompt. Despite the frenetic pace of his Ayan shoot, it’s not a let’s-get-it-over-and-be-done-with-it interface. A clear reflection of the fastidiousness that’s seen him through many highpoints in a career spanning a little over a decade.

Boy becomes man Suriya in Vaaranam Aayiram

For someone who cherry-picks his roles, Vaaranam Aayiram, which opens today, adds a new dimension to his diverse repertoire. “It’s an intense drama about the relationship between different people — father-son, boy-girl, etc. And for the first time, I play son and father in a film. It’s a totally new experience for me,” he says.
Having proved in film after film that he can strike a balance between spontaneity and restraint, Suriya continues, “Since the film spans generations, it called for well-nuanced acting. Playing student or slipping into a role that portrayed my age wasn’t difficult. But playing a father was a huge challenge. I collected a lot of photographs and observed the body language of old people. Director Gautham Menon has a keen eye for detail and his inputs helped me.”

The miracle that got Hrithik Roshan dancing!

The miracle that got Hrithik Roshan dancing!
(NSI News Source Info) 16th November 17, 2008: Hrithik Roshan had almost given up hope that his injury-prone knee would ever heal fully when a miracle happened and got the handsome star dancing again. The Bollywood star had been living with perpetual pain in his knee for two years and had tried various types of therapies, but none really helped. His predicament was compounded by the fact that he had to be fully fit to play the lead role in dad Rakesh Roshan’s home production Kites . Hrithik plays a dance instructor in the film. Before beginning to shoot the movie in the US, Hrithik tried all last-minute remedies to heal his knee fully. Among them was a new but not-yet-legalized therapy in which needles had to be stuck in his knee joint and platelets to be inserted into his knees. Though the therapy provided him relief, but the pain still remained.
Hrithik says there even came a point when he doubted if he could do justice to his role in ‘Kites’ and asked his dad Rakesh Roshan to sign another actor. But the Roshan senior and director Anurag Basu decided to wait and let Hrithik’s knee heal more. Finally, when the schedule for US was chalked out, Hrithik was anxious. The very first scene to be shot was an action scene. Miraculously, on the morning of the first day of the shoot Hrithik woke up to find the pain in his knee gone. “It’s a kind of miracle,” Hrithik is quoted as saying. The actor says all the remedies and therapies he went through came together one day and his knee was healed. Now, Hrithik says he can dance better than before. Why? Because he doesn’t take his knee for granted. In fact, the nimble-footed star is in the process of shooting a dance number for ‘Kites’. The song has been choreographed by Flexy, who, as the name suggests, is known for his tough dance steps. But Hrithik’s not worried. He CAN dance, saala.‘Kites’ is a love story starring Hrithik with Barbara Mori and Kangana Ranaut.

Shilpa Shetty has a killing figure, says Hollywood actor Daniel Craig

Shilpa Shetty has a killing figure, says Hollywood actor Daniel Craig
(NSI News Source Info) Los Angeles - November 17, 2008: Shilpa Shetty’s stars are shining brighter than ever, though she has no acting roles in her kitty. Getting more international reviews than any Bollywood actress, she has caught the attention of the hottest Hollywood character, ‘James Bond’. Daniel Craig recently gave pretty warm statements for Shilpa Shetty. Warm is an understatement, for he finds Shilpa’s smouldering, shapely figure hot enough to be a ‘bond-girl’. “I haven’t met any of the Indian film actors in person except Shilpa Shetty,” Craig recently said when asked about any Indian actresses he knows to a newsdaily. Not only this, he went on to add, “She is beautiful and very talented too. I think she looks great and has a killing figure, just right for a Bond girl.” Lately Daniel Craig has been hinting about being interested in Bollywood ventures, but it is the first time he has declared his choice for an Indian Bond-girl. Previously green-eyed Aishwarya was approached for the role of Bond-girl, but the prim Bachchan bahu refused. When asked about this complement, Shilpa replied with a coy, silent smile. When she is getting international appreciation unasked, why spoil the fun! Right, Shilpa?

Salman’s emotional breakdown on the infamous Khan war!

Salman’s emotional breakdown on the infamous Khan war!
(NSI News Source Info) Mumbai - November 17, 2008: Bollywood’s superfluous Khan-spat, that has divided the industry into two camps, has time and again been scrutinised by the media. Shah Rukh and Salman both have a different story to share. And what followed was a rift in the industry. Mutual friends Rani Mukerjee and Kareena Kapoor also had to bear the brunt. But, looks like Salman is way too emotional about the loathsome episode at his ladylove Katrina’s birthday bash. Having said that the industry has been divided into two camps, both Shah Rukh and Salman have ignored several events in the past for the fear of facing each other in such occasions. The once ‘good friends’ Salman and SRK have often publicised their displeasure. But, obviously the two had never predicted things would have taken such an ugly turn. In an interview to the media, a tearful Salman voiced displeasure on his family attending the SRK parties. “If they want to participate in SRK’s family events they are more than welcome to do that. But don’t you think that it’s a kind of a joke that from one side it’s straight from the heart one family and from one family it’s straight from the brain? Oh yeh Salman ke behalf pe aa rahe hai so he (Salman) looks like a fool. Yeh sabko bulaya gaya, yeh sab aayenge, they are all here, so Salman must be wrong. Because my family is socializing at SRK’s family events!” Salman then went on to state that it was actually SRK who publicised the whole issue, “As soon as Shahrukh left the party, he started calling up the media! I didn’t speak till one week after the fight because he was trying to put me in the middle of something which is not cool from any angle! That is the time I stood up and started speaking. There is no reason for disrespect. Everybody messes up. I have also messed up, not once but so many times, without any malice, any manipulation or agenda. If things go wrong between two buddies we say 'okay buddy let’s hang out together and sort it out' but if you are going to mess up and disrespect me then forget it.” Well, let’s just hope the two patch-up and things don’t stride from bad to worse!

My manager misled me: Eesha Koppikar

My manager misled me: Eesha Koppikar
(NSI News Source Info) November 17, 2008 - Mumbai: Eesha Koppikhar has lashed out at her manager for misleading her and blames him for having signed up for an insignificant role in 36 China Town and B-grade films like Haseena."I trust people very easily and I trusted my manager, Babubhai Thiba, too, but he misled me on several occasions," Eesha, who was seen in recently released family drama Ek Vivaah... Aisa Bhi, said."Haseena is a B Grade film, which I learnt only after signing it. Babubhai misled me by not letting me know about the actual status of the film."Haseena, which also starred Raj Babbar, Preeti Jhangiani, Tara Sharma and Kiran Janjani, was released in February 2007 and was a box-office dud.Eesha was also not happy with her small role in Abbas Mustan's 36 China Town. "It was again Babubhai who made me sign this film in an insignificant role," she said. When contacted, Babubhai refused to comment on her allegations.Eesha came into limelight with the item number 'Khallas' in Ram Gopal Varma's Company. Later she went on to act in Varma's Darna Mana Hai and Darling but doesn't consider him as her mentor."He did not give me anything more than I deserved. 'Khallas' was a hit, but he did not launch me in a film," said Eesha, who is also doing Varma's Shabri. In Shabri, she plays the lead role of a slum girl who later turns into a gangster."For Shabri, it was not Varma who trusted me, but the director Lalit Marathe - he showed confidence in me. Varma had his reservations on casting me for a slum girl's role. Varma confessed to me that he thought I was too glamorous for the role," the actress said.Eesha thinks it is Sooraj Barjatya who took a bold step by casting her in Ek Vivaah... Aisa Bhi. In the film, she plays a simple middle-class girl, much in contrast to her glamorous image."I'm really thankful to Sooraj-ji for trusting me for his film. He went against the norm by giving me the role. Whatever I will do now, I will credit Sooraj-ji for that," she said.As far as "Ek Vivaah..." not doing well at the box office, Eesha said: "I don't know about the figures, but I would like to say I'm very proud of whatever I have done in the film."

Rohit Shetty yet to see Aaj ki Taza Khabar

Rohit Shetty yet to see Aaj ki Taza Khabar
(NSI News Source Info) November 17, 2008 - Mumbai: If there are any similarities between Rohit Shetty's Golmaal Returns and the 1973 hit comedy Aaj Ki Taza Khabar, then Shetty isn't aware of them. Nor has he received any notice, legal or otherwise, from the widow of the earlier film's producer who has made copyright-infringement claims."I haven't seen Aaj Ki Taza Khabar yet. I've just come back from a holiday with my wife and son. I plan to see the film as soon as possible. I want to see what the similarities are."Rohit was clueless about the likeness between the two films. "If I knew anything about the similarity I'd have happily paid up. The copyright compensation would've amounted to a few hundred thousand which for a film with multi-million rupee budget is nothing."And don't you think we'd have rather avoided trouble than get into a confrontational situation with anyone over the story? We earlier bought the rights of a Gujarati stage play to make the first part of Golmaal. And I went through all the legitimate channels to remake Sunday from a Telugu film."As for Golmaal Returns, Rohit says it's not just his film that has echoes from the past. "Even Aaj Ki Taza Khabar I'm told is inspired by a couple of plays including a French play. It's my friend Paritosh Painter who pointed this out to me."Now Rohit is getting ready for the third part of Golmaal. He'd more or less like to make it with the same cast again. "I don't think I'll be allowed to make anything else right now. But first I need to see Aaj Ki Taza Khabar."Released in 1973, Aaj Ki Taza Khabar starred Kiran Kumar and Radha Saluja.

Amitabh Bachchan returns to work

Amitabh Bachchan returns to work
(NSI News Source Info) November 17, 2008: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will be back to work finally from November 15. He resumes work after a much- needed break in Udaipur.Confirming his return to the archlights, he says, "I'm starting on the 15th with Leena Yadav's Teen Patti. There isn't much pending work there." He was in Udaipur taking a break with his personal physician accompanying him. "I needed to get away from home. I needed time to myself, to read and write. And to watch the films that I've been meaning to for a long time. It was so peaceful out here. I should do this more often. But where is the time to take time off?" They don't call him the Big B for nothing. Generous and considerate towards his fans and well-wishers to the point of self-destruction, the Big B is more than willing to meet the disappointed hordes who were turned away on his birthday after his sudden illness. "My fans are never a burden. They are welcome any time. I publicly meet them every Sunday and specific ones get to meet me on my films' sets. No issues there." Big B regrets the fact that his illness took away his fans' excitement on his birthday. "However, health issues do not wait for an opportune moment. They happen. It is nature. It is biological. We do not have control over them. Yes, this one happened on my birthday. So what?" He is supremely pleased to be home. "But I do regret not being able to meet the well-wishers who assemble to greet me. I am sure they have understood the gravity of the situation. There will be other moments to make up for the loss." Family friends like Karan Johar and Sanjay Dutt who are abroad, kept calling to express their concern throughout Big B's weeklong hospitalisation. And he was overwhelmed and embarrassed by the extra attention. Commenting regretfully on the postponement of Abhishek and Aishwarya's schedule of Mani Ratnam's film, Big B says, "They were to leave the next day but stayed back and rescheduled their programme because of my condition. I generally do not like the idea of attention and of disturbing others with my condition, but I shall respect their decision even if they disagree with me. Particularly so now." The general opinion about Abhishek is that he's as good a son to his father as the Big B was to his. The Big B says with paternal pride. "I am grateful that others think so compassionately about Abhishek. My father is not alive to give an assessment of what he thought of me as a son. But I am. And I am happy and full of pride to have Abhishek as my devoted son." Back to work, a small portion of Shootjit Sircar's film remains to be shot. "We needed to wait for a particular climate to shoot the remaining work. That is now ready and we shall be finishing the entire shoot soon. I'm also in the process of sorting out the dates for the film to be produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Good to have so much variety thrown in my direction." In the meanwhile, AB Corp Ltd is ready to resume operations. Big B isn't too pleased by the suggestion that his production company had slowed down. "I laugh at the constant refrain of 'AB. Corp resuming production'. Resuming? We have been in production all along. Yes, they may not have attracted attention .But we are there. I shall keep you abreast as time approaches on our projects."

Kareena Kapoor hates rival Aishwarya Rai to the hilt!

Kareena Kapoor hates rival Aishwarya Rai to the hilt!
(NSI News Source Info) Mumbai - November 16, 2008: The hottest buzz doing rounds in the filmdom these days is the extent to which actress Kareena Kapoor hates ace rival and the Bachchan daughter-in- law Aishwarya. According to reports, Kareena is making sure that everyone gets to know of her dislike for Ash. It is believed that Bebo can’t even stand the sight of Ash and evades being present at all the public functions or parties that have her enlisted. Now let’s dig deep into what the reason behind this aversion is. The reason for this extreme dislike is the fact that Kareena couldn’t gulp it when sister Karisma had to walk out of Aby Baby’s life and since Ash filled in the vaccum, she was bound to be in Bebo’s hatred radar. Besides that personal reason, another thing that keeps Kareena away from Aishwarya is the professional rivalry, the truth being- Aishwarya is much more bankable and popular a star than Kareena in every way. Insiders reveal that the sole reason for Bebo rejecting Gurinder Chaddha’s project opposite Johnny Depp was Ash, as Director Chaddha had previously offended the Kapoor scion by offering her a miniscule role (that of a second fiddle to Ash) in ‘Bride and Prejudice’ which she had obviously rejected. Since then, Kareena made sure that she wasn’t doing anything for Chaddha who had disregarded her importance in comparison to Aishwarya. Wonder if it was smart enough for Bebo to reject a movie opposite a star as big as Johnny Depp. Guess she is fine lest she’s settling her scores well with rivals!

Shah Rukh Khan’s camp doing wonders for struggling Vivek Oberoi

Shah Rukh Khan’s camp doing wonders for struggling Vivek Oberoi
(NSI News Source Info) Mumbai - November 16, 2008: Vivek Oberoi, once hailed as one of the most talented newcomers almost wrecked his career, when Mrs Aishwarya Bachchan entered his life. He did some demeaning pleadings with superstars to straighten out his messy career, but to no avail. But the infamous battle between Shah Rukh and Salman changed his life! How? Well, initially, he tried to appease Salman (the two had fought over Aishwarya) was shooed off. Then Vivek went over to Shah Rukh’s camp and that did wonders. Vivek Oberoi, now boasts of a prestigious unnamed project by Shah Rukh’s ‘very close friend’ Karan Johar, that also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The ‘Omkara’ trio of 'Langda Tyagi', 'Dolly' and 'Keso' would be seen on big screen again. The film is directed by Rensil D'Silva, who had written ‘Rang De Basanti’. Rensil D'Silva is to begin shooting by mid-October. Vivek Oberoi is playing his cards safe; he is all praises for his co-actors. Talking about Kareena, the actor said, “Kareena comes unprepared to the sets and believes in no rehearsals. Moreover she does not need many re–takes to deliver an amazing performance.” Recently, Vivek was seen in a party thrown by Shah Rukh and Gauri. According to an eyewitness, "At Gauri's party at Mannat (to celebrate SRK's 43rd birthday) Saturday night, most people were shocked to see Vivek Oberoi getting up close and personal with SRK and Gauri. VO's appearance at the bash is surprising because Gauri's party was a very intimate one meant only for a select few those very close to the couple's innermost circle." “Though Vivek and SRK have been bonding over the last few months (Vivek had even gone to Kolkata to cheer for Shahrukh's ‘Knight Riders’ team) especially due to Karan Johar (Vivek acts in his next along with Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan), that still doesn't explain Vivek's presence at such an exclusive party! There were very close friends present and Vivek is not doing any ads, film or shows with Shahrukh. Their sudden bonding raised lots of eyebrows at the party as people kept wondering about the connection," the source added. Well, we hope that amidst this camps and intrigues, Vivek doesn’t goof up again to end up a loser. Hold on tight to King Khan’s camp!

I'm sure that this is also a fact of life and it happens to people and it is not a situation, which we have only imagined. KSBKBT Wind-up....Sorry EK (Ekta K)

KSBKBT Wind-up....Sorry EK (Ekta K)
(NSI News Source Info) November 16, 2008: A brief recap of the longest running soap on Indian television Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi started airing on October 3, 2000 and ran for eight years. The serial had over 70 characters spanning over five generations. In the last eight years, the saas-bahu saga, which completed 1834 episodes has won more than 78 awards in various categories. The serial also had its share of controversies when it showed Tulsi pulling the plug off Savita’s lifeline in the hospital. It raised issues of mercy killing and an episode which showed a pregnant Nandini undergoing sex-determination test, which had the women organisations up in arms. Mandira Bedi, who played the vamp, was killed off only to be brought back in the form of Achint Kaur. Smriti’s exit from the serial created a big brouhaha. Eventually she came back, but in the interim period, Gautami Gadgil played Tulsi. The serial saw three actors playing her husband, Mihir, starting with Amarr Upadhyay who was killed off few days after they were married. His death didn’t go down well with the viewers and he was brought back. But a generation leap had Amarr quitting because he didn’t want to play a old character. In came Inder Kumar as Mihir. He didn’t stay for long and was replaced by Ronit Roy. The serial ended on a sour note between the channel Star Plus and Balaji Telefilms. When star sent a termination notice to Balaji on grounds of low TRPs, the latter took the channel to court. Star, however won the case and the serial was taken off air on November 6, 2008.
Actors on Kyunki.. ending and what next Ronit Roy: I am very upset because I was attached to the show. I have been a part of it for a long time. But I guess all good things have to come to an end and make way for a new beginning. It is something I am yet to deal with.As of now, there is nothing new on the cards. I am still talking to people and reading scripts. However, I am not too keen on taking up a daily soap. There are couple of film scripts and a reality show that I am looking at. I have already shot for my brother Rohit’s film Blockbuster that is based on the film industry.
Hiten Tejwani: It should have ended gracefully, but it ended abruptly. I will miss shooting for Kyunki... But I have other serials like Mahabharat, so I will be busy with that.
Riva Bubber: It was a bit of a rude shock as the end came abruptly. I was working in the serial for the last five-and-a-half years and the set was like a home away from home. I thought the serial would go on forever. It’s really sad the way it ended. A lot of other shows that have been axed come to know of it at least a couple of months in advance but in our case we heard of it on October 20 and the last day of the shoot was November 2. That was very fast. As of now, I taking a break. This is the first time I am taking off after shooting every single day. But I am a little anxious about not knowing what’s happening next. I read that Ekta is concerned about the employees of the serial and I am sure if there’s anything for us she will call.
Tasneem Sheikh: I feel sad that Kyunki... has got over. I was /part of it for five years and it was like another family, with whom I am shared happy and sad moments. I have yet to come to terms with the fact that it’s over. Now that it has ended, I will be rejoining Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil as Daljeet. I am not taking up any other work.
Sumeet Sachdev: It’s ironical that the last day of Kyunki’s telecast aired was the first day I took out the DVD print of a short film that I have made. It is a 43-minute film that I plan to take to festivals. Kyunki... had become a part of my life and was I habituated to shooting for it a major portion of the month. Thinking positvely I will go a step ahead.
Reshmi Ghosh: I definitely feel nostalgic about the show. I have been in it for the last one-and-a-half years and the serial has given me huge recognition. I thought Kyunki... will go on for atleast 10 years. It is like going away from your family. But I guess someday it had to end. I am doing Nach Baliye, right now and looking at films as well as modelling.
Mouni Roy: My track wasn’t on for the last two months, nevertheless I was emotionally attached to Kyunki... and to director Gary Bhindre who passed away. It was my first serial and I expected it to run for 10 years. However, it has to end sometime and something new has to start.
