Govinda Wants To Go The Anil Kapoor Way!

Govinda Wants To Go The Anil Kapoor Way!
(NSI News Source Info) January 19, 2009: Anil Kapoor and Govinda are contemporaries and just when Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam has started her film career Govinda’s daughter Narmada would be doing the same.
“Narmada will launch her film career anytime in 2009. I feel today she is emotionally ready to face the camera,” Govinda told IANS. Sonam was lucky enough to debut in a Sanjay Leela Bansali film and perhaps daddy dearest Govinda would want that soon. Unfortunately no such opportunities came Narmada’s way so Govinda has decided to turn into a producer himself and produce his daughters debut film.
“After weighing all the pros and cons, I decided I’m the best person to produce my daughter’s debut film. I don’t want anyone else, no matter how well-meaning, to take the credit for launching my daughter,” he said.
“Ideally, I’d have liked Narmada to be launched by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He is among our best. But since that is not possible, we’re looking at some other names. My daughter has to be directed by someone who has a vision and an aesthetic sense and also respects the work that I do,” said the actor.
Talking about his own career Govinda doesn’t want to do his usual slapstick stuff and turn to serious roles. (Wonder if that has something to do with his daughter’s simultaneous debut).
“Six of my films are ready for release. But now, after my so-called comeback, I’ve again stopped signing new films. After working with Mani Ratnam, I can’t go back to doing roles in routine films. I’ll work only with directors who are as organised and disciplined as Mani Ratnam. He’s clear-headed about everything,” he said.
“I’m in negotiations with Ravi Chopra for his next film after ‘Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai’, which is now complete and being released in February, and for the sequel to ‘Partner’ with Salman (Khan) and David (Dhawan). But for now I’m focusing on giving my daughter the best career launch any father can give,” Govinda added
