HOLLYWOOD - July 29, 2008: Jennifer Lopez will star in the upcoming romantic comedy The Governess to be directed by Nigel Cole. Variety reports that the project was written by Kevin Wade, who also scripted the Lopez-Ralph Fiennes vehicle, Maid in Manhattan. Wendy Braff, who has mostly toiled in TV, is also a writer.
Donald Roos is currently polishing the script about a professional thief who, in order to pull off a major bank heist, poses as a nanny to the three unruly children of a wealthy widower. But, when she starts to fall for the kids and their father, she must decide if she can give up her past for a chance to start over.
Shooting is set to begin in Massachusetts in the fall under a waiver from SAG, Variety notes.
Lopez is currently preparing Love and Other Impossible Pursuits with Roos directing from his own script.
Cole previously directed the Helen Mirren film Calendar Girls.
